HOW WE FOUND OUR NEST

OCTOBER 2015

Shani relocated back to the UK after a brief stint down under & decided if she was going to live back in London she'd have to keep connected with nature. It all started with a little post on a Facebook mum's forum to see if any mamas were keen to 'get moving in the park' with me. 

You chose the park & the time. We showed up for a somewhat poorly-organised but overly-excited 'bootcamp' of bodyweight exercises. We marched around the park, buggies in tow, stopping to sweat on park benches. You were so welcoming & friendly. We decided to keep moving together & called ourselves Fit Birds.

 

As time went on, we continued to sweat & laugh together. A 'tidier' & more considered class format started to evolve, we began to create a little community...
 

WE FLY AWAY TOGETHER

SEPTEMBER 2018

 

We flew to Portugal together for our first ever retreat. As a group of 17 birds, we shared taxis & boarded flights together with a real anticipation of knowing something magical was about to happen. We united as one super flock, supported each other from Thursday through Monday, although it felt like a proper migration where time had completely slowed down. There is nothing quite like your 'first', but the following retreats came pretty close. To this day, our retreats are a piece of actual magic.

 

THE PANDEMIC MAKES US STRONGER

JULY 2020

As we dusted off our Zoom feathers we returned to our natural habitat stronger that ever. We have a deeply routed willingness to stay connected birds. With our 'polished' class formula & holistic approach to fitness we are beyond proud to call ourselves Fit Birds.

 

Our dedicated flock of trainers are qualified, have years of training & experience behind them. We are here to make sure your classes & PT sessions are fun, friendly and effective. We will commit ourselves fully to helping you on your wellness path.

    In 2015, as a way to bring women together through movement while reconnecting with our natural surroundings, Fit Birds took flight.

    Shani has over decade of experience in the health & fitness industry, becoming a Personal Trainer in her homeland of NZ in 2003. 

    Shani's calling in life is to support women on their journey to becoming fit, strong & happy!

  • CHARLIE SUMMERS

    Personal Trainer & Class Instructor

     

    Charlie is our little ball of energy bird! She grew up in Nottingham and was a keen athlete from an early age. Charlie completed a dance degree at the University of the arts, Lincoln and upon graduating moved to London. Her understanding and fascination of how the human body works led her to personal training. Charlie has a vibrant and friendly approach to training and her classes promise to leave you feeling like Wonder Woman, totally energised and empowered to tackle your week ahead like a boss. 

  • KATIE MONKS

    Personal Trainer & Class Instructor

    Katie is a musical theatre performer and personal trainer. Don’t worry the classes are far from what you’d see in a musical so be prepared to sweat! She has worked professionally in both fields for 8 years and believes that a strong mind has to be the driving force in your fitness journey. Being a dancer Katie specialises in perfect form for the prevention of injuries and rehabilitation. Katie is here build each and every woman up!

    Jemma believes yoga is an opportunity to find space and a moment of silence. A place to discover, observe, acknowledge and respond. Tapping into your intuitive
    responses and learning to value and respect what you are capable of.

  • CAMI VIDAL

    Cami Vidal is our retreat collaborator & our 'yoga wife'. Cami is a yoga & meditation teacher, a drinks & cocktail expert and the founder of La Maison Wellness.

    Our French beauty's mission is to celebrate the healthy hedonist lifestyle and empower people to live well, with less labels. Cami's mantra is Drink Well, Eat Well, Live Well because living WELL means doing everything with enjoyment and a love for life.
