PUT A SPRING IN YOUR STEP

MARCH 1-31ST
A MONTH LONG COMMUNITY EVENT

Winter has felt so long, Between the dark mornings + the weather, keeping your energy up can be difficult. With spring just around the corner, it’s time for a change birds.

For the entire month of March PBPT Fitness x Fitbirds are inviting you to commit to 10,000 steps a day.

This challenge is not for aesthetics, punishment or intensity - it’s for your heart, head + energy. Instead of waiting for motivation to magically arrive (we promise you it won't!), we’re creating it for you.



The Challenge

10,000 steps (on average) daily from March 1st – 31st.
This might be a long walk, a run, a Fitbirds class plus some extra steps. It might also be a dog walk, a podcast wander, or a catch-up stroll with a friend.

We want to focus on NEAT (Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis)- everyday movement that supports your hormones, mood + overall health. Small daily efforts help you reach your goals + doing them together is what we are about.

This challenge is a community event, all events are FREE.

Run Clubs

Led by Philippa, Coach and Trainer, PBPT Fitness

Meet at The Nest 6:30am (1 hour duration - including warm up/stretch)
Three Thursdays in March (March 12, 19th, 26th) - all levels welcome.

It’s less about pace, more about showing up and starting the day strong.

Running At Night: Workshop with the Met Police

Tuesday 17th 11am-12pm, Mayow Park. Meet at the cafe.

First we'll walk/run for 20mins to get in some steps together. We'll then flock together for an open circle led by a female officer in the Met Police. This workshop is aimed to support you in feeling confident + safe when out at night alone. Whether out for a run or walking home. Understand how you can keep yourself safe so you can enjoy being out. Because women deserve to feel safe.

 


 

Spring Equinox Sunrise Walk

Saturday March 21st 6.30am, start at The Nest, finish at St Davids Coffee Haus for post walk coffee/tea.

We’ll mark the official arrival of spring with a big community sunrise walk aiming for 10,000 steps together. 

Fresh air, movement + connection.

Run With It Workshop

Led by Iona Cousland, Running Coach

Saturday 28th March, 8-9am Crystal Palace Park

Do you want to start, or get back into running + feel confident doing it?

Whether you’re a complete beginner, returning to running after a hiatus, or simply looking to improve technique + build confidence. Come along to this one-hour practical workshop to learn more about how you can run strong, stay injury free. Feel empowered to lace up those trainers birds!

Philippa Barr, PBPT Fitness

Philippa has been an integral part of our community since 2020 as a committed Fitbirds trainer offering SGPT, strength training classes + specialist classes.

Philippa, mum of 3 is about as passionate as they come when it comes to supporting women along their fitness + wellness journey. 

Philippa, a HYROX athlete/junkie means business + will ensure you carve out the time + energy you deserve in order to feel strong + empowered.

 

Fitbirds are grateful to be collaborating with Philippa on this month long community challenge.

Iona Cousland
Leader in Running Fitness (LiRF), England Athletics Running Coach.


Iona came to Fitbirds through 1:1 PT in search of postnatal support following her second child with the goal to improve her running capabilities. We are grateful to have Iona sharing her expertise with us.

Iona is mum of two a 6 x marathoner + member of SE London-based Kent Athletics Club.

Iona began running at age 11 + has never looked back, from track, cross country to the half + full marathon. Iona
 is passionate about supporting women to start, return to, or simply feel more confident in their running.

Iona uses running a tool to help women connect better with themselves, boost self-belief, to navigate the ups + downs of life + to feel physically stronger.

 

Running has played a transformative role in Iona’s own life, particularly in pregnancy + postpartum and brings that recent lived experience to her coaching.
