Fitbirds have been hosting retreats + event since 2018, we love nothing more than an opportunity to deepen connections, learning + skills. Removing distractions of life to be present. To create yourself.
We invite you to The Nest for our first event since opening in October 2025. The Nest is a sanctuary which will support you dropping into your sense of self, providing space to play + create.
Create Yourself Retreat is a space for movement + art. A spring awakening to lean into the season of growth + change, honouring our femininity, finding the edges of our softness + strength. Carving out space so we can create.
The Movement:
Calisthenics is one of the foundational movement modalities in The Nest - it's playful, creative, challenging, functional + primal. Calisthenics asks you to move like children + animals. Calisthenics at Fitbirds welcomes all levels, we will experience bodyweight movement patterns from hanging, pulling + going upside down.
The Art:
Simplistic, line, feminine drawing. Be guided + inspired to create movement + feminine on paper.

Because where creativity goes, energy flows.
What to Expect:
12.30pm breath work + calisthenics - tap into breath, using breath work + pranayama to regulate your nervous system, creating a pathway to play. Calisthenics is our foundation movement modality in The Nest. Calisthenics is simply 'bodyweight training with gravity'. From push-ups, hanging, pistol squats, handstands to pull-ups. This playful calisthenics workshop will give you time, freedom + technique to develop skills + build confidence. A practice to get into the body + out of the head led by Fitbirds founder Shani Yeend.
3pm-5pm minimalist line drawing art workshop, tapping into female body - with experienced artist + teacher (and Fitbird) Veronika Saguita
We will provide a spread of delicious + nutritious snacks + refreshing drinks to nibble + swig while in our creative era.
All art supplies provided, leave with a masterpiece to be proud of, one which will continue to spark your creativity.

Create Yourself Retreat will be hosted by Fitbirds founder, director + trainer Shani Yeend
Shani loves nothing more than to create spaces to make women feel seen, safe + celebrated. Expect a movement workshop to invoke confidence + freedom.
Shani has been teaching movement for over 20 years, Shani knows movement + women's bodies.
The calisthenics workshop will be playful + suited for all levels. We will play with hanging, handstands + pull-up variations. There will be modifications for newbies + variations for the advanced.
Expect community + good times.

I am teenager stuck in adult woman’s body who is making her teenage dreams to come true.
With a love to learn about the world + people through traveling, surfing, skateboarding + other extreme sports. I explore art through exhibitions, drawing + other creative outlets.
Come draw with me. We don’t have to be good at everything we do + sometimes the process of how we create brings us joy.
This is a creative way to be in the moment, immerse yourself into line drawing of female bodies which is part of each of us.
No judgement, just acceptance + gratefulness for our body showing up for us every day".
